چکیده

• y(u) aims at reproducing some real phenomenon which we denote by y 1.2 Validation of computer models •Question of interest: Does the computer model adequately represent reality? •Obtain field data yi that results from observing reality in a physical experiment yFi = y +εi , εi ∼ Np(0,Σ F ), ,Σ = Λ R Λ, Λ = diag(σ i ) •Combine model and field data with a statistical model y = y(u) + b (Kennedy and O’Hagan 2001) to simultaneously: •Calibrate: estimate the ‘true’ value u, and •Validate: produce tolerance regions for y with certain probability. 2. Separate analysis (by components) potentially leads to conflicting calibration strategies: a motivating example

Calibration and Uncertainty Analysis for Computer Simulations with Multivariate Output

Model calibration entails the inference about unobservable modeling parameters based on experimental observations of system response. When the model being calibrated is an expensive computer simulation, special techniques such as surrogate modeling and Bayesian inference are often fruitful. In this work we show how the flexibility of the Bayesian calibration approach can be exploited in order t...

Development of an in-cylinder processes model of a CVVT gasoline engine using artificial neural network

Today, employing model based design approach in powertrain development is being paid more attention. Precise, meanwhile fast to run models are required for applying model based techniques in powertrain control design and engine calibration. In this paper, an in-cylinder process model of a CVVT gasoline engine is developed to be employed in extended mean valve control oriented model and also mod...

UV-Vis Spectrophotometry and Multivariate Calibration Method for Simultaneous Determination of Theophylline, Montelukast and Loratadine in Tablet Preparations and Spiked Human Plasma

Resolution of binary mixtures of theophylline (THEO), montelukast (MKST) and loratadine (LORA) with minimum sample pretreatment and without analyte separation has been successfully achieved by multivariate spectrophotometric calibration, together with partial least-squares (PLS-1), principal component regression (PCR) and hybrid linear analysis (HLA). Data of analysis were obtained from UV–Vis ...

Linear and Nonlinear Multivariate Classification of Iranian Bottled Mineral Waters According to Their Elemental Content Determined by ICP-OES

The combinations of inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) and three classification algorithms, i.e., partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA), least squares support vector machine (LS-SVM) and soft independent modeling of class analogies (SIMCA), for discriminating different brands of Iranian bottled mineral waters, were explored. ICP-OES was used for th...
